Captains
Jürgen Klinsmann named Mark van Bommel captain for the 2008–09 season, succeeding former captain Oliver Kahn, who had retired after the 2007–08 season. Van Bommel was the first non-German captain of Bayern Munich. The Dutchman had been the Reds' captain since 2008. In January 2011 he left for Milan, though. The former vice-captain, Philipp Lahm, succeeded him as captain. Bastian Schweinsteiger who was formerly the second vice-captain is now the only vice-captain.Years | Captain |
